RATTY TATTY COLORS OF FALL


I love these ratty, tatty crazy quilts! They evoke a feeling of time long gone by and yet they still have timeless colors and textures that speak to warmth and loving hands that is as important today as it was when these were made. Fall has arrived in Portland, Oregon and as I was putting these quilts away after having them in the window at Monticello-I looked at them and thought the colors of the quilts reflected the colors and the holilday season we are soon to enjoy!

They are gorgeous, aren't they? I love the weight of them on the bed, especially when the room is cold and you are snuggled under your covers!

They are beautiful. When I look at an old quilt I always think about the history of the quilt. Who made it and why, where did the fabrics come from...
