Our Grand Nephew came to the birthday party! How fun and fabulous it is to have a baby in the family to love and celebrate. It does seem like yesterday that my 35 year old son was that age. Some memories fade over time-I don't think a mother's memory of her child[ren] ever fades! I would not trade for anything Justin's growing up years-but I would cherish one moment in time to have him a baby again just for a moment. But the reality is for all mothers is that children grow up despite our wishes to stop time. When I was a Principal I would often counsel parents on the trials and tribulations of their child[ren] growing up. What I said often is that our need to be a parent never goes away-but our childrens' need to have us parent changes daily as they learn and experience the growing up and independence of their lives. Even at 35 I sometimes have to remind myself that my son Justin is grown up!

Oh, how sweet. What a precious little guy!

Boy, I'm learning more and more about you, a Principal. I didn't know that.

I was so sad when my big boys weren't even close to being babies anymore... I wished as you for one more moment of those times... then I had Sam... now I am careful what I wish for...Just kidding he is perfect! And I am thankful for a do over!
