THE JOY OF ART THROUGH A CHILD'S EYE

Joe from Barn House had Natalies' three children do paintings on old scrap book paper when they were getting ready for the last Barn House Flea Market. When I went into Sparrow on that Saturday-I spied these paintings. This is one of them and when I go to the Tarte Barn this weekend, I will take pictures of the rest and share them. They are all as fabulous as this one is and I got them for a steal-$1each. I will scan them as the paper is pretty fragile so I can use them over and over again. Oh, to be so young and care free in creating these artful images! I will keep these paintings always and will celebrate all that is young, and innocent in them!

TOO HOT TO TANGLE

It's too hot to tangle, too hot to antique and too hot to blog! I made it to Monticello this morning and did a little fluffing for the die hards who may wander in today. But that's it! I am going to go get the dogs wet and then I am going to plant myself in front of the air conditioner upstairs in the bedroom for the rest of the day and maybe for the rest of this heat wave!

A BLAST

This rooster may be rusty and old, but it is singing thanks for all of our dear customers who braved the heat to come join the fun in the sun, Orange Tag Sale at the Tarte barn. Based on what was left of our Annie, Fannie and Abigail projects and inventory, the show was a success! We did our best to deliver bargin basement prices and wheel and deal so our projects could become your treasures. We brought out a truck of furniture and stuff to start the sale and I have only one car load of smalls to bring home. Not a bad day's fun!
I also want to thank our wonderful friends and sister, Debby and son Justin for sticking with us in the heat of the day both on Friday and Saturday. They all went beyond the call of duty to help get the barn ready. A big hug to Joe of Barn House [Jermonne-I missed you big guy!!!!], Natalie of Sparrow for her over the top lemon cake, Joy of Auntie Joy, for her tireless work, cookies and lemonade and Erin of Celticlass, for her most beautiful flowers. Isabel of Maison Douce brought a super size bag of home made palmiers and need I say-not a crumb was left at the end of the sale. They were my breakfast and they were fabulous! Betty was a real trooper and helped Cindy with lots of to dos'. So a heartfelt thanks for our friends and family who helped make our sale a success!!!!!!

BEGONIAS AND FUCHSUIAS IN ALASKA

Two of our Dad's most favorite flowers were begonias and fuchsias. He would spend hours watering, fertilizing and dead heading his hanging baskets. He would of so loved to have seen these beautiful blossoms that are growing up at Mt Aleska this summer! So Dad if you are looking down-these are for you!

LOVING AND PLAYING WITH OUR NIECES AND GRAND NEPHEWS

Three of our four grand nephews from New York and Vermont were at the wedding celebration. Errol, Ripley Roux and Griffin came for the fun. Our only grand niece, Lena, and Zepher, our other grand nephew from New York were not able to come as they were with their other Grandparents in Boston. We missed them dearly, but took every opportunity to love, play and cuddle with Errol, Ripley and Griffin!!!! Enjoy!

A BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL, MAGICAL WEDDING

Our niece, Ruby married her long time beau, Danny last Saturday in her mother's garden in Bird Creek, Alaska out side of Anchorage. The weather was perfect and the bride radiated happiness that equaled the sun shining down on them during their ceremony. Ruby and Danny wrote their vows and there was not a dry eye in the crowd when they finished! These pictures show Ruby with her new husband, her two beautiful sisters and her mom and dad. Enjoy!
