IN LIKE A LION

It's a blustery day at my house-thank goodness the sun is not out or nothing would be getting priced for expo! Spent most of the day marking smalls-lots of pearlie buttons. We started making jewelry out of antique buttons when Donna first started Annie, Fannie and Abigail-but soon realized that buttons, particularly Victorian metal buttons -were little pieces of art. Once we learned more about buttons-we just couldn't cut them up any longer-so our jewelry business was short lived. WE LOVE BUTTONS!

Well I am off to have dinner for my family of 12. Cameron James is coming to Auntie's house. Less you think I slaved over the stove as well as priced all day-I want to put that thought to rest right now-we're doing take out!

MONTICELLO and EXPO

We have been busy pricing, cleaning, tagging and bundling for the up and coming Palmer/Wirfs Antique show March 6, 2009, as well as preparing fun things for Monticello. Needless to say-our lives take on a more frantic pace during the weeks before EXPO-but we wouldn't do it if we didn't LOVE IT!

For those of you who wonder what I did last Saturday-let's say the garage and the threat of rain in the up and coming week won out. I moved the "stuff" from one side of the garage to the other and got things stacked and organized [okay-kind of organized] for EXPO. I got a big kiss from the Wizard when he got home from his business trip. He can finally get to his things since I switched the sides of the garage. I will take some pictures to tease some interest. One thing I did notice in my efforts to organize is that I am into vintage suitcases-especially to put smalls in for transport and display. Someone who does not love the business might think the suitcases have become an obsession!

Back to pricing, cleaning, tagging and bundling.

Sun and Saturday

Oh my gosh, the sun is out and the wizard is out of town-what to do? I could clean the house, work in the yard, organize the garage or play. UMMM-I choose play. I am putting smalls together in packets for both Monticello and Expo. That is always fun to do! I will do that until my bags run out and then I think I will start organizing the garage. I have the best of intentions of using our storage units to the fullest-but find things always land in the garage. I have quit promising the car that it will get shelter-I break that promise all of the time. So out it stays in all elements and I continue to have a messy garage piled high with treasures. Have a sun filled day!

It's a beautiful morning

One could close their eyes today and think it might be spring! It's going to be a glorious day to be outside and play.

I have only one word to say about the root canal-OUCH! I will be going back next week to finish up-hopefully! I had quite a surprise when I found out that I need two root canals-ugh! He did the easier one first-so I am dreading the procedure for the next one!!!

We went to Monticello for dealer night and brought in some fun things! I think my favorites are the birds' nests and some ironstone pieces that have been resting in my house.Come take a look and spend the morning or afternoon. The cafe at Monticello has much to tempt the pallet.

The Wizard got up early this morning [very early] and down loaded pictures for me before he left for warmer climates and his work. I now know how to down load pictures from the camera as I somehow erased his work and had to do it all over again-see - I am dangerous with the computer! The pictures are still in a search file-but I think I can access them to post one or two with this blog. I am off to do just that and to go outside and play.

Good Morning

I have to have a root canal done today! UGH! But then plan to come home to walk the dogs, select and price for Thursday's Monticello dealer night. My goal in the next week is to learn how to download my pictures of our 2 Monticello booths into my computer. Wish me luck as the Wizard will be out of town and I am going to have to download the pictures on my own. This attempt could be very dangerous to the life and health of this blog and computer.

OLD DOG

Well, can you teach an old dog new tricks? My assessment is with much difficulty! My husband, wizard of all things computer in our house hold spent 20 seconds looking at my blog problems and told me that I had used an ancient, no longer working email address to set up the blog. Sigh! That's not exactly what I said but suffice it to say that the rest was not printable. All of my efforts to rectify my mistake are some where in the vortex of "old dog who can't remember her email address in the sky grave yard. Nothing worked! So I took Google's advice and started all over creating a new blog with the correct email address-and voila-it worked!
A GOOD WEEK! Donna and I became great aunts and our younger sister became a GRAMMY for the first time-how great is that! We could not believe how long it took him to come out of hiding. He weighed 9lbs 13 oz and already looks two months old. Welcome Cameron James Friesen-we love you bunches!
Okay, I spent hours setting up a blog-with the wrong email address-and no one could access the site. It looks like I will be taking giant steps toward a third version of a blog -but let's hope not! Bah humbug-no one ever said I had a lot of patience!.

After several attempts to get this blog going it appears this is the one that is working and I am one with Google, Google Accounts and the correct email. Although the next few postings will be a repeat from the first blog I started-I think they have enough merit-well okay-humor to include in this new blog.

Welcome to Annie, Fannie & Abigail Antique Studio! This is our second attempt at setting up a blog and here is hoping that a third attempt is not in our near future. So here goes with crossed fingers and toes that our second attempt succeeds!

Annie, Fannie and Abigail began life in sunny southern California. My twin sister, Donna Cedergreen branched out from her interior design business and created Annie, Fannie & Abigail Antiques & Acquired Objects. She started in the big flea markets and graduated to a storefront in Manhattan Beach, California. [Historical pictures to come later.] Her work has been featured in "Country Living" and Laura Ashwell's book on flea market treasures.

People always ask us which one of us is Annie, Fannie or Abigail? [Our younger sister Debby, often helps us at shows -so there is three of us.] We always say none of us carry those names. Donna was at a garden center in L.A. and chickens were running around doing what chickens do. She asked what their names were-Annie, Fannie and Abigail-and thus in their honor-Donna named her endeavor into the antique and flea market world after them.

When I retired seven years ago, I took a year off to breathe-but found myself fancy free and looking for a challenge at the end of my respite. About the same time Donna decided life was too busy and retired from antiques. OH MY, WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THE STUFF? In the meantime I am shopping at Willow Nest in Buxton and Linda Markov says, "Diana why don't you do our next flea market?"- and Pandora's box was opened. I called Donna from the store and to make a long story short-she drove a truck up from L.A. with the stuff-we did the flea market and Annie, Fannie & Abigail began life in Portland, Oregon.

My lucky day came over two years ago when my niece-Donna's daughter came to Portland to do her residency in Internal Medicine-and guess who followed their daughter to Portland-Donna and Bob! So now we have Annie, Fannie & Abigail together after living apart for more than 30 years-life is joyful now that she is in town!
